Colours...Door to my Home

Renovating a home is not difficult. It's coming up with H-O-W you want to do up the home, now that's the ultimate challenge. Excellent coordination on executing those ideas will result in good timing, cost saving, lesser headaches and minimise arguments with your spouse and the rest of the your family members who suddenly seem to have taken a keen interest in how you should be doing things THEIR way. That's how my story begins....

A lot of spice, adding on with salt and pepper to taste...that was the lesson I learned in my first home. I've got a lot of stories and photos to share, not much time to do it though as the ideas are still coming plus lots of buying and planning yet to be done. So, I like to share one of my bright ideas. DOORS. Yes, colour adds fun to the home. I chose the Little Red Door as my own (Loving all red) and then there's the Blue Door, Orange Door and Yellow Door.

I like to tell people to go to the Blue Room or Orange Room, etc if I am directing them to one of these rooms, rather than 2nd Room, 3rd Room. On top of that, in a house of white walls, having coloured doors does magic to the place. *wink*

Savings - Fridge and Air-Conditioner

Electrical appliances are one of the more expensive items for the home. I've done my share of research and decided that D'Legend LCD & Hifi along Old Klang Road (Next to Tesco Scott's) is undoubtedly the lowest priced shop around Klang Valley. The name sounds limited, but be assured, they are a well equipped electrical shop with a wide range of appliances. They even have this service, whereby they will jot down on a piece of paper, the prices of products and brands you want. Bring this paper along to other shops to compare.

Besides already saving on the total purchase price, then comes along this scheme by Kettha. Log onto www.saveenergy.gov.my whereby you can rebate up to RM200 (Refrigerators) and RM100 (Air-conditioner). Terms and conditions apply of course. Only selected brands and models qualify, which I am sure you can find one suited according to the requirements, since you can get a rebate, hey, what the heck, right?!

It's these types of rebates and goodies which really brightens my day. So, don't forget to save, save and save.

1st step of faith

today marks the beginning of another chapter in my life. in the span of a week, i decided on purchasing a house.  :) a single storey house. why single storey? it defines me, it's less complicated, easy to manage, most of all, i can forget something and run in to grab it, I DO NOT NEED TO CLIMB THE STAIRS. hah! goes to show how lazy i can be huh? nope. it goes to show how far ahead i've considered it. afterall, i don't want popo to climb steps to go to her room. i don't want mom to scream from downstairs to ask the kids to come down. see?

i am not wavering, i am not turning back from this decision. there will still be doubts for sure, about the certainty of the best value i've gotten for the house. it's forward thinking from now on, i am a new house owner. nothing beats the feeling of commitment. feels good and free, the opposite of what i thought i would be feeling if i were to commit to something of such big value. you don't try, you won't know. this is my 1st step of faith.

go on, go get it

nothing much happening this week. it seems that a lot of plans i started out having in the beginning of the year has not come to much fruition. i should reflect on this and seriously begin to act on some of it. the possibility of not committing to buying a house or having a dog is......the commitment itself. it freaks me out. moreover not having someone to partner with me to own it together, to face the ups and downs of it is scarily lonely.

i've been talking so much and looking forward to having all these, i must get down to it. who am i trying to proof myself to anyway? let this be done, because it is the right time and i'm blessed with the resources to do it. what makes joy and happiness complete if you depend another person to gain it? let it be borne from your own passion to achieve it, to attain it and to reap the harvest which is ready to be sown.
